Continuing the cycle of musical life stories about the great spirits of Latvian literature, a video story “Elsberg – in two nights …” illuminating the life and work of the poet Klāvs Elsbergs has been created.

As “Delfi” informs the video authors from “Liepāja Music”, it actualizes the legacy of Elsberg’s personality and creative performance and complements the students’ knowledge of Latvian literature, music and the corresponding historical period.
The video story was made in the program “Latvian school bag”.
The story of the video contains facts from the life of Klavs Elsbergs, as well as letters written by him, and poetry dressed in the colors typical of pop music and rap, expressing both direct experiences and philosophical reflections.
The synergy between authenticity and the present encompasses three main thematic lines – reality, the inner world of the creative personality and, of course, the love that unfolds against the historical context of Elsberg’s life, the creators of the video write.
One of the screenwriters, Linda Ulāne, writes: “The creative productivity of Klavs Elsbergs is incomprehensible to my mind. And it is by no means at the expense of quality. “It was such a warm humanity that I can only learn from. This video story will also appeal to young people and give them the opportunity to meet something relevant and close to themselves.”
The aim of the project is to actualize the legacy of Klāvs Elsbergs’ personality and creative performance in the ideas and knowledge of young people, to encourage thinking, analysis, discussion about the relevant heritage of Latvian literature, musical culture and history and to try to ensure the interest of the new generation.
Author of the director, actor of Liepāja Theater Mārtiņš Kalita, who also contributed to the screenplay, admits: “With this educational material, we tried to address the audience directly and openly, without editing Elsberg ‘s texts, allowing young people to think about why the poet wrote this way and not otherwise. Today, when creative personalities still have to struggle with their inner nature to “not sell for pennies” while maintaining a mark of quality, and it is faith, confidence, a strong inner personality that keep this bar at their desired level. goals and qualities, everyday life, everyday problems, survival have been relevant during Elsberg’s life. Is it different today? No!
Actors participate in the video story Gerds Laposka, Cynthia in the steering wheel, Leon Leshchinsky (audio voice), rapper Ozols (Ģirts Rozentāls), singer Tipa (Tabita Balode), trumpet player Jānis Ivuškāns, keyboardist Ritvars Garoza, percussionist Pauls Ķierpe. Viesturs Ozols, Jēkabs Hmieļevskis and the youth of Liepāja were filmed in the episodes.
