Al-Akhbar (Nouakchott) – Professor Abdelrahman Ould Abdallah said that he excluded the lifting of the suspension of dozens of education service providers, noting that about 10 of his colleagues are still suspended.
The spokesman explained in a statement to Al-Akhbar that the group was suspended in 2020, while the Ministry of Education recently lifted the suspension on those who commented in the years 2021 and 2022.
He added that he was studying in the city of Silbabi, and his salary was suspended due to absence due to health conditions he went through, pointing out that because of “contracts of compliance” they are not granted medical rest rights.
He also pointed out that the Ministry of Education insists on continuing the current contract formula, despite its description by official authorities as illegal.
Ould Abdallah called on President Mohamed Ould Al-Ghazwani to intervene in order to provide justice to education service providers and correct their situation, especially in light of the ministry’s emphasis on the shortage of educational staff.
