1. Listening
If your partner tells them they are PLWHA, listen to them and offer support.
It should be understood that having HIV/AIDS does not mean that life is over.
There are drugs that are effective in treating HIV/AIDS and can keep our partners healthy and keep us from getting infected.
2. Learn about HIV/AIDS
Learn what HIV is, how it is transmitted, its symptoms, and how to treat it.

Find out how our HIV/AIDS partner can stay healthy and how we can protect ourselves from transmitting infection.
3. Be an encouragement
When your partner tells you that they are HIV/AIDS, encourage them. Also, encourage them to seek treatment immediately.
When HIV/AIDS is treated early using antiretroviral therapy, the infected person can protect themselves from infection.
They can also live longer and they can greatly reduce their risk of developing the worst AIDS risks.

4. Make sure your partner takes their medicine every day
Because the HIV virus attacks the immune system, it becomes difficult for the body to fight infection.
So make sure your partner is taking medication every day and also make sure they eat a healthy balanced diet.
5. Get support
You and your partner can join a support group for people living with the virus.

Talk to other people like friends and family about your situation.
Talk about your worries, feelings, and thoughts about your partner and their illness.
If you have questions or concerns, talk to your doctor.
