An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 occurred in Japan, TASS reports with reference to the country’s National Meteorological Office. The epicenter was located in the Fukushima prefecture area.

According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, the source of the earthquake lay at a depth of 60 km.
