An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale also hit Tajikistan

A new earthquake with a magnitude of 5 was registered today in Tajikistan, the European-Mediterranean Seismic Center reported.

According to his data, the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 60 kilometers and 58 kilometers southwest of the village of Murgab, which has a population of 10,800 people, TASS reported, quoted by BTA.

There is no information about casualties or damage.

Less than a week ago, an earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale shook the country.

The tremor was recorded in eastern Tajikistan, near the border with China, and was felt strongly in parts of western China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, including the cities of Kashgar and Artush.

At that time, the railway services in the Xinjiang-Uyghur region had temporarily stopped the movement of some trains, but there were no injuries or victims, recalls dir.bg.
