Sherif El-Hadi, head of the earthquake department at the National Institute for Astronomical Research, said that an earthquake of magnitude 4 occurred north of the city of Suez, stressing that it was ineffective.
And he added, during a phone call with the journalist Jaber Al-Qarmouti, on his program “Manshet” broadcast on the CBC channel: “The earthquake occurred in the north of the city of Suez, 30 km south of the Bitter Lakes, and the depth of the earthquake reached 10 km.”
And he sent a message to the citizens: “There is no need to panic and take to the streets, and the earthquake is simple.”
