Earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 and a depth of 8 km occurred at 16:58 (local time) in Romania, and was also felt in our country. This is reported by the National Academy of Sciences to the BAS.
The tremor was recorded in the historic western part of Wallachia, Oltenia. However, according to European seismologists the quake is magnitude 5 and with a depth of 13 km. It is described as strong by the local population.
Earlier in the day were also registered several aftershocks in Turkey with a magnitude of 3 to 4.5. A 4.6-magnitude earthquake was reported in central Turkey at noon, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported earlier.
The focus is at a depth of 10 km. The earthquake occurred at a distance of 38 km east of the city of Osmaniye in southern Turkey.
