Scientists using the Hubble Space Telescope discovered a planet outside the Solar System (exoplanet) and only 22 light-years away from Earth. It was stated that the celestial body called LTT 1445Ac is the Earth-sized planet located at the closest known distance to the Solar System.
LTT 1445Ac, which was first noticed by the TESS telescope last year, could be examined more closely thanks to its illumination as it passed in front of a small red dwarf, its own ‘Sun’. The findings were presented to the scientific world in an article published in The Astronomical Journal.
Accordingly, the surface of LTT 1445Ac is thought to consist of rocks like Earth. The planet’s diameter is only 1.07 times larger than Earth’s. Its mass is 1.37 times the mass of the Earth; Gravity is slightly more. But the similarities end there; Because the surface temperature of the newly found planet is 260 degrees. This rules out the possibility of life on the planet – at least as known to humanity.
