Social media activists circulated an audio recording claiming it was by Egyptian artist Sherine Abdel Wahab, titled “The first audio recording of her from inside a hospital specializing in psychiatric illness and addiction treatment,” after his brother had announced his admission to the addiction treatment hospital.
The alleged audio recording revealed that Sherine was crying and apologizing to the audience, saying, “By God, I’m oppressed.” However, some activists have revealed the falsity of this recording, as they confirmed that it is old, and dates back to March 2019, during a telephone interview by Sherine with the media Amr Adib after the crisis of her statements in Bahrain at that time, after which has been suspended from singing.
Sherine’s voice appeared on the alleged tape and said, “Someone is persecuting Sherine. They want to distort my image. My head is tired and strong. By Almighty God, I have been wronged … in a conspiracy because I have no done nothing. “
The release of this recording coincides with the news that the Egyptian artist was “a victim of addiction”, according to the statements of his brother and mother, after being forced by his brother to be treated recently in hospital.
