JAKARTA – A asteroid as wide as the Empire State building will fly past Earth next week. But there’s no need to worry, because according to experts, this asteroid is still at a safe distance.
It is estimated that the asteroid will pass a distance of 1.2 million miles (almost 2 million km) from Earth so that there is no danger to creatures on Earth.
However, experts at NASA say it will be the closest asteroid to come for the next 200 years.

Launching the BBC page, Thursday (13/1/2022), the asteroid about 1 kilometer wide is expected to fly past Earth on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at a speed of more than 47,000 miles per hour (more than 75,000 kilometers per hour).
For your information, a team of scientists at NASA’s Center for Near-Earth Object Studies, which tracks small objects such as asteroids, comets, and dwarf planets, first discovered a space rock in 1994, and named it 7482 (1994 PC1).
To date, NASA has not detected any asteroids that pose a threat to Earth, but NASA is preparing for the unexpected in case something unexpected happens.
They even have a mission in space currently called DART, the goal of which is to try to distract the asteroid by crashing into it. (amj)
