TRIBUNLAMPUNG.CO.ID – The moment an asteroid hit the planet Jupiter, which is the largest planet in the solar system, was captured by the owner of the Twitter account @yotsuyubi21 from Japan.
The moment was captured using a telescope.
Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system. So big, according to NASA quoted from its official website, Jupiter’s size is 11 times wider than Earth.
Despite its large size, Jupiter is often hit by various celestial bodies such as asteroids.
The phenomenon of Jupiter being hit by an asteroid captured by the owner of a Japanese Twitter account (@yotsuyubi21), is not the first time.

Quoting from Space, on Friday (15/10/2021). Skywatchers in Japan observed flashes of the planet’s northern hemisphere atmosphere possibly caused by an asteroid hitting Jupiter.
This is the second time the flash has appeared after a Brazilian observer saw a similar moment.
“The flash felt like it shone for a very long time to me,” Twitter user (@yotsuyubi21) who managed to capture the moment with the Celestron C6 telescope, told Space.
They confirmed the observations with a team led by Ko Arimatsu, an astronomer from Kyoto University, Japan who took part in the Organized Autotelescopes for Serendipitous Event Survey (OASES) project.
OASES itself is an optical observation project that aims to detect and investigate stellar occultation events by trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs) measuring kilometers, quoted from Arvix.
