Temonen says that he encouraged Sjöman, who was looking for his own version of the familiar private detective character.

Vares -film plays with stereotypes and popular cultural references, as in Temonen’s films in general. Humor can be seen on the big screen in surprising situations.

– The guy Ilona sparred with is one of the best UFC fighters in Finland, Temonen laughs.

– It was difficult for Ilona, ​​because she doesn’t naturally hit anyone. He was terrified that if someone else got hurt. I told you to hit as hard as you can!

The filming was also memorable in the sense that Temonen was able to spend quality time in Turku with his actress wife Olga Temosen with. The wife Olga plays the role of a pastor in the film. The couple was accommodated by a producer during last spring’s filming Markus Selin by.

There was also a memorable situation when, in the middle of filming, Turku was hit by a back winter. Suddenly, one morning, spring Turku changed to a winter landscape, and according to Temonen, there was 60 centimeters of snow on the ground. We got through that too, although Temonen remembers the feeling of disbelief in the morning.

Many irons in the fire

At Temos, the attitude is not to lie down in the fire. When Olga Temonen, 46, fell ill with stage four brain cancer, the whole family had to get used to the new situation. Olga Temonen told about it publicly at the end of 2023.

He has shared his news on social media and has shared, among other things, pictures from his treatment trips in Germany, where he has visited, for example, with his sister.

Tuukka Temonen now says that the family’s everyday life has not changed much since his wife’s diagnosis.

– It has had surprisingly little effect. We think we can get through everything. Getting stuck in anxiety or sadness will get you nowhere. The situation is this: the tumor is not active. The recovery and healing is progressing slowly. It’s not worth thinking in advance what would be the worst option or whether it will even come.

Currently, according to his own words, he runs two companies and works weekends at his wife’s pizzeria in Iiti.

– I still can’t make pizza, but I can repeat what Olga has advised, he laughs.

When Temone is asked about his own coping skills, Temone smiles.

– I’m fine. Life goes on. For Olga it stopped, and for the rest of us it goes on. That’s how it should be.

– But there is quite a lot to do here.

According to him, the treatment trips to Germany have been helpful: with them, the tumor has shrunk. The director also praises his wife’s stoic approach to a difficult matter.

– Olga lives in this moment and in this moment there is nothing to worry about.

The brain tumor has affected the right side of Olga Temonen’s body so that it is difficult to move.

– The right leg and hand don’t really work. Yes, Olga walks behind, but the hand doesn’t really play, it goes slowly. He wouldn’t be able to play tennis, the husband characterizes.

The couple has been together for twenty years. It has included joint film projects, keeping a petting zoo, founding a pizzeria and family life with children and animals. At the beginning of the year, a film made together by Temoste will premiere A jellyfish has no heart.

According to Tuukka Temonen, the past year has been the best of the two so far.

– We both agree. We don’t fight about anything anyway, but now it’s been so much fun and good to be with someone else. We have been in Turku a lot. Olga has had to stop and at the same time she has been able to enjoy life when she is not in such a rush all the time.
