A large Christmas tree in front of the Fox News headquarters in New York has burned down. A man was arrested on suspicion of starting the fire. So far, there is no information about the motivation for the act.
On Thursday night (local time), an almost 16 meter high Christmas tree burned down in front of the headquarters of the TV station Fox News in New York City. The station’s cameras show how the tree was on fire shortly after midnight. Police arrested a 49-year-old man suspected of having started the fire shortly afterwards. Security guards from the conservative TV channel watched the man climb the tree.
No information on motivation for the act
The New York police have not yet given any information about the motivation for the act. The Manhattan incident is the latest in a series of arson attacks on Christmas trees. Christmas trees recently went up in flames in Oakland and Sacramento in California, as well as in Chicago.
