An appeal by the Sofia prison postpones the early release of Andre Tokev

Top chef and TV star Andre Tokev will not be released early this week, bTV reported.

He was sentenced to 7 months in prison for driving under the influence after the court in January approved an agreement between him and the prosecutor’s office for an effective punishment.

At the end of last week, the Sofia City Court approved the chef’s request for early release. According to the magistrates, Andre Tokev was calm and balanced. There was no hostility and aggressiveness in his behavior, which meant that he had no addictions, including alcohol.

However, it is now clear that the administration of the Sofia prison has filed an appeal against the decision.

Thus, the case materials will be sent to the Sofia Court of Appeal.

A date for the case there has not yet been set.
