An American report reveals “weapons” that pose a threat to America’s warships

The American “essa news” website confirmed that the recent threats made by Hezbollah to the United States forces deployed in the Mediterranean region are “far from being empty rhetoric.”

The website said: “It is known that Hezbollah in Lebanon possesses weapons that could pose a great danger to modern warships, including Yakhont/Onyx P-800 missiles.”

Although Hezbollah has not officially confirmed that it possesses modern anti-ship missiles, Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah said to the Americans in his statements on November 3: “Your fleets with which you threaten us in the Mediterranean do not frighten us, and will not frighten us one day.” Days. Russia previously supplied Syria with P-800 Oniks/Yakhont missiles, which highlights their great importance and confirms Israeli fears about them.

What is the Yakhont/Onyx P-800 missile?

The Onyx P-800 missile, which bears the name of the export version “Yakhont”, was designed to attack ships, especially large ones, such as aircraft carriers.

This missile is supersonic, maneuverable, and is one of the world’s leading models of its class.

It has been designed for launch from various platforms, including land platforms, aircraft and ship decks, and can be launched from underwater by submarines.

Earlier, sources told Reuters that Hezbollah’s possession of anti-ship missiles in its military arsenal enhances the party’s threat to the US Navy.

Sources familiar with Hezbollah’s arsenal told the agency that “the powerful Russian anti-ship missiles that Hezbollah obtained” give it the means to implement the implicit threat made by the party’s Secretary-General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, against American warships, noting that it also highlights the serious dangers of any Regional war.
