The Covid-19 hits the Corsican workforce head-on. After four positive elements for Covid last week before the first match of the season against Nîmes, which had not been threatened, it is five new members of the Ligue 2 group who diagnosed positive yesterday. Saturday, Mathieu Chabert’s group normally has an appointment in Diochon to challenge Quevilly Rouen Métropole, their runner-up at National. This meeting of the 2nd day of Ligue 2 could however be the first postponed of this 2021-2022 season. “This brings the total number of people positive for COVID-19 to 9. As required by the protocol, the SCB transmitted all the elements to the LFP”, specifies the club of President Claude Ferrandi. The virus is therefore actively circulating in the island club where a cluster has been created.
The LFP must decide
The LFP’s Covid Commission should therefore be seized to rule on a possible postponement of the meeting. The regulations provide that a “club which would not have, on the morning of the match, at least fifteen players including a goalkeeper on the official list of thirty players declared by the club to the LFP” may request a postponement of the match. The identities of the affected Bastiais have not filtered, only the League therefore has the elements to make its decision on whether or not to hold the match. Actufoot wishes a speedy recovery to the players and / or members of the Corsican staff in order to return as quickly as possible to the lawns of Ligue 2.
