At Maison Krug, Michel Bourqui, General Delegate of the International University Association of Vine and Wine and Guillaume Gellé, President of the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne signed with the International Organization of Vine and Wine, a tripartite agreement aimed at strengthening skills in vine and wine law, coordinated by the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne.

Noting the need to intensify and develop training in wine and spirits law, the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), the International University Association of Vine and Wine (AUIV) and the he University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne (URCA) undertakes through this tri-partite agreement to develop a strong partnership in terms of training on this theme according to two aspects: The first concerns the organization of tailor-made training in vine law and wine and more generally in legal sciences, intended for OIV staff and experts as well as the academic community, in order to meet identified needs. The second aims to sustain the support given to the organization of the “Robert Tinlot Moot Court” (mock trial competition in European wine law), which has benefited from the support of the OIV since 2015 and the AIDV since 2018.

This collaboration, scheduled for a period of four years from April 1, 2023, reinforces the ambitions of each of the parties to work for a sustainable implementation of training action in the field of vine and wine law and s is a continuation of the 2017 membership of the URCA in the AUIV (association with observer status of the OIV). The URCA, the AUIV and the OIV have already maintained links and working habits for several years, in particular through the organization of various highlights and training, such as the organization of the “Robert Tinlot Moot Court” , participation in the wine law clinic, the wine law training module in the MSc Wine Management of the OIV, etc. The URCA via the Vin & Droit program – Jean Monnet Chair and the Georges Chappaz Institute of Vine and Wine in Champagne, recognized for their expertise and experience in the field of vine and wine law, particularly in its international, European and comparative aspects, thus aims to federate and animate the university network specialized in vitivinicultural legal sciences.
