An act of extreme violence rocked the town of Kindia when residents burned alive a young man accused of armed robbery. This tragedy occurred after an attack in a shop in the Sinania district, during which the owner, Thierno Amadou Barry, was fatally injured by a bullet.
The mob took place in the Mangoyah neighborhood, where locals apprehended the gang member who had operated overnight in the shop.
In a summary act of justice, the attackers were prosecuted and one of them was captured. Neighborhood residents, filled with anger and frustration at the growing insecurity, clubbed the suspect several times before setting him on fire.
This armed attack once again raises the question of the insecurity that currently reigns in the town of Kindia, nicknamed the “Citrus City”.
Residents live in constant fear of the presence of major bandits who have settled in the area, disturbing the tranquility of the population.
However, it is important to stress that violence and mob justice are not appropriate solutions to solve the problem of insecurity. Although residents are driven by a desire to protect their community, it is essential to respect the rule of law and let the competent authorities take the necessary measures to bring criminals to justice.
