A hard blow for users of the SFR and Bouygues Telecom networks. Since this Wednesday evening, around 9:30 p.m., the telephone networks of the two operators have been the victims of a failure in many municipalities in an area extending from the Val de Fensch to the Luxembourg border while also affecting the agglomerations of Thionville and Cattenom.
Behind this problem, an act of probably intentional vandalism which would have been committed on a site of telephony located in Yutz. The optical fiber necessary for the proper functioning of the installation was cut, putting about fifty relay antennas out of service.

Repair operations have been underway since Thursday morning and, according to SFR’s communication, “half of the impacted sites could be put back into operation. The rest will not be long. Moreover, a complaint is in progress.
Shortly before 6 p.m., only the Yutz antenna remained out of service.
In a press release, the urban community of Val de Fensch suggests that the situation could have returned to normal around 6 p.m. on Thursday.
