Two vehicles, each with two occupants, collided with each other in Amsterdam-West. One of the victims died in hospital from his injuries. One suspect was arrested the same evening and is currently in custody. The accident attracted a lot of attention from bystanders.

Police and emergency services rushed to the scene. A 27-year-old woman from Belgium was trapped in the overturned car. The fire brigade managed to free her with great difficulty, but she is now out of danger. A second victim, a 28-year-old Amsterdammer, was seriously injured next to the car and did not survive in hospital.
The driver of the other vehicle turns out to be a 22-year-old man from Haarlem. He is suspected of causing a fatal accident while intoxicated. The other occupant has minor injuries and was heard as a witness by the police.
