The investigating judge in Kleve, Germany, has yet to decide whether he will be held longer. It would be Robert B. (58) from Amsterdam, founder of the highly controversial Order of Transformants for years without a trace. That’s what various people who are closely involved in the research say. B. appeared to have disappeared from the scene in 2008 when his Order appeared to be involved in an assassination attempt, but he was always in control.
Order of the Transformants
On Wednesday it was announced that the German police had raided a former monastery in Goch, Germany, just across the border. There a 58-year-old Dutchman who calls himself a prophet was arrested. The Order of Transformants is now located in that building and it turned out that dozens of people live.
Police raided because a 25-year-old woman was being held against her will. That 25-year-old woman is the daughter of the woman who operates the monastery. The young woman arranged the events in the monastery. The 25-year-old woman is said to have been imprisoned for a long time and the judiciary sees this as serious deprivation of liberty.
False world
The man arrested would therefore be Robert B. The charismatic B. was once a personal coach. From there he developed his own methods to make yourself better. Around 2000 he founded the Order of Transformants, the Christian order that fiercely opposes the ‘false world’ around them. Protestants joined it, but also Catholics, and even unbelievers. They were mostly highly educated people. Together they created their own world. With own rules. In 2003 the Order settled in Hoeven in Brabant, a number of houses are next to each other.
Robert B. and his Order are highly controversial. Twice members of the Order have been charged with assassination attempts in the past. In 2008, businessman Frits Bebelaar was almost shot dead, but the suspected Order members were later acquitted.
Called ‘whores’
At the beginning of 2014, Jeroen van Hasselt was stabbed in Laren by a man who rang the bell with a bunch of flowers, in which a knife was hidden. Years earlier, Van Hasselt had been put aside by his wife who had joined the Order with her children. Bebelaar and Van Hasselt would both have been attacked because they often expressed negative about the Order. Van Hasselt’s ex said to it in 2014 Algemeen Dagblad: “For years we have been called whores, people have been fired, threatened, called names. I can imagine that ‘someone’ will no longer accept that. We will not be pissed off with impunity. ” Yet she did not confirm that the Order was behind the attack on Van Hasselt.
Robert B. disappeared from the scene in 2008, when the van Bebelaar case started playing. He wouldn’t have wanted to testify to the police. His wife continued to live with the cult members in Hoeven for a long time. B. would have always held the reins.

Writer and journalist Carine Damen researched cults in the Netherlands and also the Order of Transformants. She follows the Order to this day. It does not surprise her that Robert B. finally seems to be bumped into the lamp. “Robert B. has abused many women within the cult, even walking with a tattooed image of him on his back,” she says. “That applies to more cult members.”
According to her, B. has always remained in charge of the Order. Both Damen and others who had problems with the Order know that the sect is not to be mocked. “Many people who have had to deal with it are harassed. It is all very sensitive.”
Justice in Germany neither denies nor confirms that the arrested man is Robert B. Camiel Engelen owns the monastery in Goch and also does not want to confirm that it concerns B. He denies that a woman was held in the monastery. “That woman is an employee here.” Engelen complains about the violence with which the police raided the monastery.
