Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh, who is wanted by the police, changed five vehicles in 12 hours to evade arrest in Punjab. The police launched an extensive operation to arrest Singh after his supporters broke into a police station to release one of his aides. Singh was seen inside a Mercedes SUV before jumping into a Maruti Breeza to change his clothes. Later, he got on a Bajaj Platina motorcycle that subsequently ran out of fuel. He then got on a diesel-run three-wheeler before stealing a motorcycle at gunpoint with his associate, Pappal Preet. The police have recovered the Mercedes SUV, the Maruti Breeza, and the Bajaj Platina that Singh used during his escape. Over 120 people, including Singh’s uncle, have been arrested since the police operation began. Several members of Singh’s outfit, “Waris Punjab De,” have also been arrested, with NSAs imposed on them as they are held in detention in Assam’s Dibrugarh Central Jail.
