“There are five import companies that have licenses that we are holding until everything is appropriate throughout Indonesia,” Amran said at a press conference at the office of the Ministry of Agriculture, South Jakarta, on Monday ( 11/11).

Amran confirmed that if the company still does not want to take in cow’s milk from local farmers, its import license will be permanently revoked.

“If any of the five are still trying (not to import local milk), I will revoke their license and they will not be allowed to import any more. join hands,” he said.

However, unfortunately Amran was not willing to mention the names of these companies.

Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the Milk Processing Industry Association (AIPS) Sonny Effendhi said the reason for the restrictions on local milk was that its quality did not meet industry standards.

He said that domestic milk contains certain ingredients.

“So it doesn’t meet the standards food safetyfood safety, so it’s not appropriate,” he said.

He said that domestic milk contains water, sugar syrupand other materials.

Because of that, in the future there will be joint efforts between industry and farmers to improve the quality of domestic milk.

“So do not add water, cooking oil, sugar syrup, carbonate, hydrogen peroxide. We will catch, if it is released, the public will be the victims,” ​​he said.

“We have to protect it because according to BPOM standards, milk cannot contain this ingredient,” he said.

As a result, the industry prefers to import milk. Most come from New Zealand and the United States (USA).

He also denied that the industry chose to import because of price. He said import and domestic prices were almost the same.

“So price is not an issue. Quality is the main issue,” he said.
