As included in its annual action plan, the Clair de Lune Madagascar Association carried out its civic duty of reforestation last Saturday in Ampangabe, in Atsimondrano. 600 young plants of various species were planted that day. This day mobilized around fifty volunteers from the Association, most of them accompanied by members of their family. “Madagascar is experiencing the full brunt of the effects of climate change due to the degradation of our environment,” according to an official of the Association, “ reforestation and monitoring are our contribution to saving our planet “, he continues. The opportunity also allowed the volunteers who made the trip to observe first-hand the growth of the shrubs planted during reforestation actions carried out in the past. It should be noted that the association records an average survival rate of 90% of the trees planted, thanks in particular to the monitoring system, in collaboration with the local community.
