The Ministry of Health and Population announced today, Sunday, that it recorded 112 new cases that proved positive in its laboratory analyzes of the new Corona virus (Covid-19), including a foreigner, and 15 new deaths.
The ministry gave no further details about the 15 deaths.
Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs, revealed that 31 of those infected with the Coronavirus have been discharged from isolation and quarantine hospitals, all of them Egyptian, after receiving the necessary medical care and recovery according to WHO guidelines, bringing the total of those recovering from the virus to 732 cases until Today.
Mujahid said in a statement today, that the number of cases whose laboratory results were transformed from positive to negative for Corona virus rose to 1001 cases, including the 732 recovered.
Mujahid said that all registered cases of HIV positive in isolation hospitals are subject to medical care, according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization.
Thus, the total number that was registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus until today, Sunday, is 3144 cases, including 732 cases that have been cured and discharged from isolation hospitals, and 239 deaths.
In a related context, Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, on behalf of all workers in the medical sector, thanked the Egyptian armed forces for their support to the medical sector and medical teams by visiting a number of isolation and fever hospitals and providing certificates of appreciation to them and honoring them for their vital role in serving Their homeland, stressing that this had a great impact on raising morale for them and continuing to carry out their duty, and praised the efforts of the armed forces in sterilization and disinfection of vital installations, roads and fields.
The Minister held her regular meeting with the medical teams in 9 isolation hospitals, which are “Abu Khalifa, Al-Ajami, May 15, Agouza, Tami Al-Amdid, Baltim, Al-Nujaila, Malawi and Qaha Hospital”, to ensure that all needs are met and follow up the application of updated treatment protocols and infection control standards, and directed Thanks to the crowd of pharmacists for the great role that they play and for their proven efficiency in work, and the follow-up to the availability of medical supplies in isolation hospitals and their participation in the investigations, and their vital role in updating treatment protocols.
The Minister pointed out that all the medical teams in the fever and chest hospitals are the first stopping wall for infectious diseases that the country was exposed to during the past decades and until now, praising their great effort in this exceptional period, when the updated treatment protocol starts from the fever and chest hospitals and the teams The medical institutions in those hospitals sort the cases and match the definition of the case, take wipes, and provide the necessary medical care.
It also indicated that fever and chest hospitals have provided medical and treatment services to more than 1.5 million citizens of sick conditions that frequent these hospitals or suspected of having a new Corona virus since the emergence of the virus in Egypt until now for free, through 81 fever hospitals and issued in the various governorates of the Republic, with an average daily frequency More than 25 thousand cases.
The Ministry of Health and Population continues to raise its preparations in all governorates, follow the situation first-hand regarding the “emerging corona” virus, and take all necessary precautions against any viruses or infectious diseases, as the hotline “105” and “15335” has been allocated to receive citizens’ inquiries about a virus Corona emerging and infectious diseases.
