AMLO sends letter to parents
Because the parents did not want to receive the information that was offered to them this Monday during the meeting they had at the National Palace, the president reported that today he will deliver a letter and a report to them.
“Today we are going to deliver because they did not want to receive the report yesterday, we want the report to be known because they gave me a letter asking me for information, especially about documents that supposedly the Army has not delivered and I asked the secretary of defense for a detailed report that I delivered and they did not want to receive that report,” he commented.
The federal president, who promised to clarify what happened that night in 2014, reported the content of the letter that will be delivered to the parents and said that a report from the Ministry of Defense will be included, in addition to recordings and texts that the U.S. government.
“Today you will be given a report that I requested from General Luis Crescencio Sandoval González, Secretary of Defense, about the documents that you are requesting. This report explains how many pages and files have been delivered, and also reiterates the commitment to continue the search for other documents to leave no doubt about the transparent management and correct conduct of this institution of the Mexican State,” says the content of the letter.
The president added that all recordings provided by the United States government, directly or indirectly linked to the case of the missing young people from Ayotzinapa, will be delivered.
“I consider it of special interest that you know the first version or report that we have prepared jointly in the government that I represent to formulate an idea that, complemented, leads to a greater approach to what really happened on the night of September 26 and the following days, of course this version moves away from the so-called historical truth,” the president added.
President López Obrador warned that, in their desperation, parents believe that information is being hidden, but he assured that this is not the case.
“Now what they want is the recording and it turns out that the document appears in the files. But there is no recording because that is what we have to see and we are investigating, but the document exists, what we have we cannot and should not hide,” he commented.
