AMLO in the US: From Washington, the President sends a message to migrants: “I will defend you as always”


The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, this Monday arrived in the city of Washington and took the opportunity to send a greeting affectionate to Mexican migrants, to whom he said that he will defend them in the meeting he will have tomorrow with the president of the United States, Joe Biden.

“I send you an affectionate greeting. Tomorrow, at the White House, I will defend them as always and I will remember that migrants —from anywhere in the worldthey are exceptional beings who bravely break through and work hard and honestly to support their families here and there”the President wrote on his social networks.





In a first message, President López Obrador stated: “To my countrymen and women in the United States: I am already staying in Washington.” The President and his wife, Dr. Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, are staying at a hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue in the US capital.

The property is protected by elements the Secret Service and the Washington Police.

This Tuesday President López Obrador will meet, for the second time in his mandate, with his counterpart from the United States Joe Biden; and with the vice president from the United States, Kamala Harris.

In the afternoon, he will attend the monuments of the former president Franklin D, Roosevelt and the defender of civil rights Martin Luther King.

On Wednesday, the president will hold a meeting with businessmen from Mexico and the United States.
