Mexico City. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador celebrated that the electoral court has decided not to ban his most recent book “Thank you!”
“He lost the censorship; “he won freedom,” he wrote on his social networks when reacting to the decision that the Superior Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Power of the Federation made this afternoon by majority (three votes against two) so that the National Electoral Institute does not investigate the content. of the work of the work, with the argument that doing so would incur “prior censorship.”
“I am glad that today the electoral court decided not to ban my book ‘Thank you!’” he said in a video that he also shared on his X account.
On February 27, the standard-bearer of the opposition coalition, publication discredits her as a candidate and “favors” her party’s candidate, Claudia Sheinbaum.
The Technical Litigation Unit of the INE dismissed that complaint, but the magistrate of the electoral court, Reyes Rodríguez Mondragón, took it up again and presented a project in which he proposed revoking that decision to confirm whether or not in the book there are expressions that violate the electoral law. . The magistrate’s project was rejected this Wednesday by the Superior Chamber.

In the video that he posted on his networks, López Obrador read a chapter in the history of the Mexico-United States relationship that arose in the second decade of the last century, when the then Secretary of State, Robert Lansing wrote a letter – apparently addressed to the President Thomas Woodrow Wilson, in which he said:
“Mexico is an extraordinarily easy country to dominate, because it is enough to control one man: the President. We have to abandon the idea of putting a North American citizen in the Mexican presidency, since this would lead us to war again.
“The solution also needs time. We must open the doors of our universities to young ambitious Mexicans and make the effort to educate them in the American way of life, in our values and in respect for the leadership of the United States.
“Mexico will need competent administrators. Over time, these young people will reach important positions and eventually take over the Presidency. Without the United States needing to spend a cent or fire a shot, they will do what we want and they will do it better and more radically than we do.”
After reading that passage of history – which is in his book – the head of the Mexican Executive closed by referring to presidential periods of the past: “The prophecy was fulfilled temporarily, that is no longer the case.”
