President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) lashed out at artists and singers like Eugenio Derbez, Natalia Lafurcade, Kate del Castillo, and Rubén Albarrán for leading a campaign against the Maya Trend.

He questioned that these artists and singers were not opposed to the construction of the airport in the Lake Texcoco.
In the Treasury room National PalaceAMLO reported that for the Mayan Train project, 200,000 hectares of trees will be planted in a 50-kilometer gap.
In addition, he added, three ecological parks will be built, one of them in Tulum dedicated to the Jaguar.

The head of the Executive questioned:
“When these artists, pseudo-environmentalists, spoke out for the destruction that was going to be carried out on Lake Texcoco, when? We are talking about the lake with the most history, which is the origin of Mexico Tenochtitlán, never, nothing, when did they say something during the neoliberal period that the governments handed over 60 percent of the territory for mining exploitation, 120 million hectares”.
He even invited the “undersigned” to visit Port AdventureXcaret, where the American company Calica is located, which had a permit to extract construction materials and which operated near the Caribbean Sea.
