Due to heavy rain, the tour that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and his successor, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, were to make this afternoon through the archaeological zone of Chichén Itzá, accompanied by governors of the Fourth Transformation, was suspended.
Following the inaugural trip of the P’atal Maya Train to this location, the Maya Train Hotel, built by the Ministry of National Defense at the entrance to Chichén Itzá, was privately inaugurated.
The leaders of Morena and allied parties posted messages and photographs on their social networks that describe the trip they made, together with their partners, with López Obrador and Claudia Shienbaum, from Cancún to Chichen Itzá, full of camaraderie, gratitude and commitment to continue the construction of the second floor of the transformation.
The images released do not show the governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha, nor the head of the Government of Mexico City, Martí Batres.
“The last trip of governors with brother Andrés Manuel López Obrador and our dear Claudia Sheinbaum,” posted the governor of Campeche, Layda Sansores.
Mara Lezama, governor of Quintana Roo, wrote: “Everyone aboard the Mayan Train, the train of social justice. Another achievement of President López Obrador. Governors, we are preparing to build together the second floor of the transformation led by the first female president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaim.”
Delfina Gómez, Governor of the State of Mexico: “It is an honor to accompany President Andrés Manuel López Obrador on the inaugural tour of the P’atal train, at the Cancún station of the Tren Maya. We are headed to Mérida, also accompanying our president-elect, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum, along with fellow #ConstitutionalGovernors and elected members.”
Other leaders of the movement expressed themselves in a similar way.
Mariana del Pilar Ávila, from Baja California, shared that the governor dedicated a few words to her.
