Amit Shah Ridicules Opposition Meeting in Patna, Calls it a Photo Session

Jammu and Kashmir Home Minister Amit Shah has taken a dig at the opposition leaders’ meeting in Patna, calling it nothing more than a photo session. Shah, who was in Jammu and Kashmir to inaugurate various projects, also expressed his belief that unity among the opposition is not possible and predicted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will return to power in 2024 with more than 300 seats.

“A photo session is in progress in Patna. They want to challenge BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and NDA. But no matter how hard they try, the unity of the opposition is not possible. Even if the opposition comes together, the people will elect Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister,” explained Amit Shah.

Meanwhile, the opposition meeting commenced at 11:30 AM at the official residence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. This is the first joint meeting of the opposition parties, aimed at finding ways to face the BJP unitedly in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

While the opposition held its first such meeting four months before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, this time they are attempting to form unity a year in advance. The meeting was attended by Congress, Trinamool, DMK, Aam Aadmi Party, Samajwadi Party, CPM, CPI, RJD, JDU, NCP, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray), JMM, PDP, National Conference, Muslim League, RSP, and Kerala Congress. A total of 20 parties, including (M), participated in the meeting. However, the BSP and BRS parties chose not to participate.

  1. It’s disappointing to see Amit Shah resorting to ridicule instead of addressing the concerns raised by the Opposition. Such dismissive comments only undermine the spirit of healthy democratic debates.
