“Amit Shah promises to end Muslim reservation in Telangana: Assembly Elections 2021”

Hyderabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that if the BJP comes to power, it will end Muslim reservation in Telangana. Religious exemptions are unconstitutional. Only Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes/Studies and OBCs are eligible for reservation. Amit Shah was addressing a rally at Shewalla in Hyderabad. Telangana currently has four percent reservation for Muslims.

“There is corruption in all the various schemes of the BRS government. The benefits and schemes implemented by the central government for the poor do not reach the bottom floor. Corruption will bring down the government” – said Amit Shah. Chandrasekhar Rao government is interested in implementing Asaduddin Owaisi’s agenda. Those interested in Owaisi have no right to rule the state. Amit Shah said that the government of Telangana should be for the people.

Uwaisi also came forward with a reply to Amit Shah. Asaduddin Owaisi responded that BJP has no clear vision for Telangana except ending Muslim reservation and communal speech. If Amit Shah is serious about the rights of Scheduled Castes/Tribes and OBCs, the Constitution should be amended to remove the 50% reservation limit. Uwaisi accused BJP of wanting fake encounter, imposing curfew and releasing criminals.

Assembly elections in Telangana are nearing the end of this year. Ahead of the elections in BJP-ruled Karnataka, the four percent reservation for the Muslim community was scrapped and it was given equally to two sections of the Hindu community.
