Cairo – Mohamed Ibrahim – Artist Amir Al-Masry expressed his enthusiasm and his noble and courageous stance to demand a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip while winning the Best Actor award at the Scottish BAFTA Awards. The group Arts Workers for Palestine Scotland also organized a red carpet vigil in Glasgow, with a vigil across the road from the Hilton Hotel where the ceremony was held.
The reason for Amir Al-Masry’s attendance at the party
Amir Al-Masry attended the ceremony because he won the Best Actor award at the BAFTA Scotland Awards for his performance in Limbo, and was selected to compete for the Best Supporting Actor award at the BIFA for his role in In Camera. Limbo tells the story of Omar, who lives on a Scottish island after being separated from his Syrian family, awaiting his fate regarding his asylum application.
This is not the first time he has won international awards
Amir Al-Masry starred in the film Limbo, which was shown at the Cannes Film Festival, won 3 awards at the Cairo International Film Festival, won the Best Actor award at the BAFTA Scotland Awards, and was nominated as Best British Film in 2021 from the British BAFTA. He also participated in the series The One, and competed at the Egyptian box office with the movie Ritsa (2021), and also participated in the Ramadan 2022 season in the series Al-Ikhtiyar 3, starring in the movie Hashtag Jozni.

Artist Amir Al-Masry commented on the selection of the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) to compete for the Best Supporting Actor award for the movie In Camera, expressing his happiness in a statement.
Amir Al-Masry said in the statement: “I was nominated for the Best Supporting Role Award for the movie IN CAMERA from BIFA. This is happy news, but what is happening in the world makes my feeling of it very heavy.”
The young artist Amir Al-Masry received positive reactions for his role in the film In Camera, which was shown at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, in its 57th session, within the Proxima competition.
