Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Spokesperson for the Winning National Team (Timnas) Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (AMEN) Indra Charismiadji believes that many parties are ‘burnt out’ regarding the fraud inquiry rights plan election that will be proposed by political parties.
Indra responded to former PKB Secretary General Lukman Edy criticizing the use of the right to inquiry in the DPR as useless.
“Why are so many people burning their beards with this right of inquiry?” Indra said to CNNIndonesia.comSaturday (24/2).
Indra said that efforts to carry out the right to inquiry were a constitutional route for political parties in the DPR, and that all parties were free to express their opinions.
He said that other parties should relax if the 2024 elections are honest and fair.
“What we demand is the upholding of democracy. Don’t let democracy die just for the sake of perpetuating the power of one family or group,” he said.
Previously, Lukman Edy assessed that the use of the right to inquiry in the DPR to investigate allegations of fraud in the 2024 election was useless and would not be able to change the results of the 2024 presidential election. Therefore, he believed that this effort would be in vain if it continued.
“Current demands or pressures for inquiry rights in the DPR are a waste of work. It is counter-productive because there is no connection with the implementation of the elections, it cannot change the election results, it cannot also change the results of Bawaslu’s decisions,” he said, quoted from detikcom. , Saturday (24/2).
Lukman then suggested that the PKB faction in the DPR RI ignore the parties who asked to use the right of inquiry.
He emphasized that the right to inquiry in the DPR would not be useful and would only create noise without concrete results.
Meanwhile, the political parties supporting Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, who were declared defeated in the quick count, plan to use the right of inquiry in the DPR to investigate allegations of fraud in the presidential election.
The political parties supporting Anies-Muhaimin in the DPR include PKB, NasDem and PKS. Meanwhile, Ganjar-Mahfud is supported by PDIP, PPP, Hanura and Perindo.
NasDem Secretary General Hermawi Taslim claimed that the party supporting Anies-Muhaimin agreed to propose the use of the right to inquiry in the DPR.
“Our enthusiasm is like the spirit expressed by Pak Anies, we are ready together with the PDIP initiator to roll out the questionnaire,” said Hermawi in a press conference after meeting with the secretary general of the party supporting the Amin coalition last Thursday (22/2).
Meanwhile, Ganjar-Mahfud supporters, especially PDIP, also want to use the right of inquiry. However, PPP, which is also the candidate for the candidate pair, has not yet made a decision.
