Arisen almost silently, as part of a need that was emerging from the hand of a growing community such as Sunchales a decade before the middle of the last century, the Center for Artistic Culture “Friends of Art” went through different stages.
Always looking for its fullness and space with its own name, it had a first function in another area than the one it currently occupies. It happens that the first cultural meetings were held in the Italian Society, also taking place in the private home of Professor Juan G. Bosch, which was located in Pellegrini 144, where later the property that we allude to today would be.
Reflections on music and biographies of composers and performers were constant, as were piano and violin performances.
With the passage of time, back in 1945, the building on the corner of Juan B. Justo and Carlos Pellegrini streets could be acquired, materializing this initiative from the money that was loaned by some partners and a mortgage that would end up being paid off. a quarter of a century later.
The elapsed time found within its walls excellent artistic samples, adding at the beginning of the decade of the ’80 the operation of the Municipal Lyceum. In recent times, the love for culture that those who made up the different commissions have, made the focus shift to the conservation and maintenance of the historic building, thus guaranteeing its continuity for many more years.
