In any case, Ukraine will receive 50 billion euros from the European Union, and the postponement of the summit to next year was not due to Hungary’s veto, but to “give it time” to join this common decision of the bloc. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Kuleba in an interview on the telethon.
“If we talk about opening the backstage of European politics, then the formalization of the decision on 50 billion was postponed to the beginning of next year not because of Hungary’s veto, but because the remaining 26 European countries are giving Hungary time to finally agree on accession They don’t want to have a situation where “minus one” decisions are constantly being made,” Kuleba said.
He expressed confidence that the decision to provide Ukraine with these 50 billion euros will be made.
“There is only one question left: either 27 states will do this together – all EU members, including Hungary, which was given a month to conduct additional negotiations, or this money will be allocated by 26 EU countries without Hungary,” Kuleba said.
He emphasized that the only question here is the internal unity of the EU – whether it can be preserved. If not, then the money will still be allocated for Ukraine, the Foreign Minister assured.
