If you were a fan of adventure games around the turn of the millennium, maybe the title Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy sounds familiar. It was released in 1999, and behind it stands Benoît Sokal, who would later create the adventure series Siberiawhich takes place in the same game world.
Whether you want to relive old memories or just find the game interesting, you can be happy that Microids has announced a remake. The development is done by Microids Paris, and the game is supposed to be released this year on pcPlaystation 5 och Xbox Series X/S.
Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy takes place in the forgotten Latin American country of Amerzone, where a journalist travels to fulfill the last wish of a deceased explorer: to help a species of mysterious white birds. During the course of the adventure, there are mysteries, puzzles and characters to get to know.
Unfortunately, Benoît Sokal does not get to see this new version of his game, as he passed away a couple of years ago.
