The children of Gaza are looking forward to real change in the American administration through elections that will help end their suffering
While Harris’ position appears to be more balanced than Trump’s on Gaza, her actions as Vice President Biden contradict her promises.
– Ruaa Abu Amra’s child: I have the right to learn and fulfill my dreams, because everything stopped as a result of Israel’s war in Gaza.
– Ali Al-Deeb’s child: I ask the new American president to stop the war so that I can return to my home in Gaza City
Like “a drowning man grasps at a straw to save himself.” The children of the Gaza Strip are innocently looking forward to a real change in the American administration with the presidential elections that could help end their suffering and stop the Israelis who going on genocidal war against them for the second year in a row.
This comes despite the fact that the two options available in these elections are “both bitter”. The two competing candidates show great support for Israel, as seen through their speeches and a debate that took place between them on September 10, 2024.
The candidate of the Republican Party, Donald Trump, offers a tougher approach to unconditional American support for Israel. It allows him to take the measures he deems appropriate within what he calls “his right to self-defense,” without any focus on the humanitarian aspect.
While Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris supports what she considers Israel’s “right to defend itself” against Hamas, which she says is “a terrorist organization that must be eliminated,” she emphasizes at the same time “the need to protect civilians in Gaza.”

Harris also says she supports the “two-state solution” to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and claims she is working with the current administration to ensure the stability of the situation in Gaza after the end of the war, including the reconstruction and restoration of the rule of the Palestinian Authority.
While Harris’s position seems to be more balanced than Trump’s, the actual position regarding Gaza of the Joe Biden administration, in which she is currently Vice President, contradicts his promises.
The Biden administration provides full military, intelligence and political support to Israel in Gaza, and the Palestinians even accuse it of being a major participant in the genocide that Israel has been committing in the Strip from October 7, 2023.
But since there is “no trick in hand,” and with typical innocence, the children of Gaza hope that the American elections scheduled for the next November 5 will contribute to the reduction of their current suffering, which according to what some of them told Anadolu correspondent.
