At 55 years old, Philippe Presti appears as a key witness to the evolution of the America’s Cup since the beginning of this Third millennium. Double world champion of Finn (1993-96), vice-world champion of Soling (1998), this native Arcachonnais competed in the Olympic Games in Atlanta and Sydney before taking up several challenges within the framework of the Coupe de America.
“I was first coxswain of the Areva Challenge (2003), the last French boat to take part in the cup (quarter-finalist), here in Auckland,” he recalls.
