Team New Zealand and Luna Rossa are tied, a success, everywhere after the first two America’s Cup regattas, contested on Wednesday in Auckland Bay, under cloudy skies and light winds. The New Zealand sailor easily won the first with 31 seconds ahead of the Italian challenge, before the latter narrowly won in the second, crossing the virtual finish line seven seconds in front of his opponent.
The slightest mistake pays for itself

“We followed our plan, kept our cool and the boat did the rest, said Jimmy Spithill, Luna Rossa’s Australian skipper, after equalizing his crew. It’s great to be competitive“. “We looked a little rusty on this last one (regatta). It’s no secret that we haven’t raced in quite a while“said Peter Burling, skipper of Team New Zealand, noting that”the slightest mistake pays for itself“.
