Coleman, who missed out on a medal in sixth place at the World Championships in Budapest, won ahead of Jamaican Kishane Thompson (9.85) and compatriot Fred Kerley (9.96). The latter had failed at the World Cup as the defending champion in the semi-finals.
Kenya’s Emmanuel Wanyonyi also won the 800m with the best time of the year. With 1:43.20 minutes he distanced the Canadian Marco Arob by four hundredths of a second and took revenge for the defeat in Budapest.
