The girls are believed to be twins, although each was born on a different day.
The family is now back home.
An obstetrician at the hospital confirmed that the triplets were doing well. She told the BBC that she had never experienced anything like it in her long career.
At the age of 17, Hatcher was told she had a double uterus (uterus didelphys). It is a rare congenital anomaly affecting 0.3% of women. And the chances of getting pregnant in both wombs were even lower – “one in a million”, as the doctors said.
Such cases are extremely rare in the world.
In 2019, a doctor from Bangladesh told the BBC that a woman gave birth to twins in her second womb almost a month after giving birth to a premature baby.

“I gasped… We just couldn’t believe it,” she recalled.
