Kimberly Kay Brandt is an American woman who lives in Tijuana and, according to a statement from the authorities, has just been tried for stealing her mother’s social security for 13 years.
Brandt’s mother died 13 years ago, and since then, Kimberly has stolen more than $268,000 in retirement benefits from the government. This crime is classified as fraud.
According to investigations, Kimberly moved with her mother to Tijuana, where the elderly woman died thirteen years ago, in June 2010. She did not report the death and had been receiving retirement benefits from the Social Security Administration ( SSA) by direct deposit into your bank account.

“Brandt was ordered to pay $268,143 in restitution to the Social Security Administration,” they said in a statement.
After the SSA detected HB’s death and stopped paying benefits, Brandt again impersonated HB by calling the bank to inquire about the missing payment.
Brandt was detained on June 27, 2023, while attempting to enter the United States from Mexico, three weeks after her SSA benefits were stopped.
