California woman sentenced to 15 months in prison for assault, news agency reports AP. During a Southwest Airlines flight, she punched a flight attendant in the face and broke her teeth.
The judge in San Diego also sentenced 29-year-old Vyvianna Quinonez on Thursday to pay the victim almost 26,000 dollars (more than 24,000 euros) in damages.
He also fined Quinonez $7,500 (almost $7,000) for assault during Southwest Airlines’ flight between Sacramento and San Diego in May 2021.
During the final descent of the flight, the flight attendant had asked Quinonez to fasten her seatbelt, fold up her table and put her mouth/nose cap on properly.
Quinonez began filming the flight attendant on her cell phone, pushed her, then stood up and punched the woman in the face and pulled her hair until other passengers intervened.
The Sacramento woman will be banned from flying for three years after her release and will have to attend therapy or classes to manage her anger.
