An American who was “stuck for several days in mud” has been found alive in a nature park in the northeastern United States, a week after her disappearance, local authorities announced. She “was conscious and alert and was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for observation,” police in Stoughton, Massachusetts, who were conducting the search operations, said Monday evening.
She has “serious but not life-threatening injuries,” said Easton police, who oversaw the rescue operation. The young woman, aged 31, had been wanted by the police since her family reported her disappearance on Monday June 26.
A week later, and while the search campaigns remained unsuccessful, she was located by hikers who heard screams in a marshy portion of the Borderland State Park, near Boston. The young woman was rescued by firefighters, who had to use quads to get to where she was stuck.
