American Teenagers Prefer iPhone and Apple Watch Over Apple Music and Apple TV+, Piper Sandler Report Finds

American teenagers prefer the iPhone and Apple Watch, but have little interest in Apple Music or Apple TV+, research firm Piper Sandler reports in a new report. Masu.

↑A must-have pair for American teenagers…

According to a Piper Sandler survey of 6,020 people with an average age of 16.1 years, 85% of U.S. teens own an iPhone, and 86% would choose an iPhone as their next smartphone. This number was the highest level ever. We also found that 34% of young people own an Apple Watch, making the device overwhelmingly popular.

On the other hand, if you look at Apple’s online services, they don’t seem to be that popular. Almost two-thirds of teens say Spotify is their favorite music streaming service, while only 30% use Apple Music. Additionally, less than 5% watch Apple TV+ every day, and more than 30% each watch Netflix or YouTube every day.

Apple TV+ may be lagging behind Netflix and YouTube simply because of a lack of content. Apple TV+ is also increasing its original content, but it’s not enough to compete with other competing services. Also, although Apple Music has a wealth of content, the presence or absence of a free plan may be the reason for the difference in the number of users.

The same survey found that 44% of young people use Apple Pay, making it the most popular payment system, but Apple needs to further strengthen its content services going forward.
