American streaming platforms pronounce: ‘Black Lives Matter’ | NOW

American streaming platforms such as HBO, YouTube, Netflix, Amazon and Hulu have voiced the Black Lives Matter movement, following the death of 46-year-old George Floyd. The unarmed black man was killed on Monday after being arrested violently.

HBO changed the Twitter name to #BlackLivesMatter and left know to stand “behind our black colleagues, employees, fans, actors and storytellers – and anyone affected by senseless violence.”

“Being quiet means being an accomplice”, tweeted Netflix Saturday. “We have a platform and a duty to our black members, employees, creators and talents to make our voices heard.”

YouTube said “to show solidarity against racism and violence. When members of our community are hurt, we are all hurt.” The platform also pledged $ 1 million ($ 1,000,000) in support for actions against social injustice.

“We support black lives. Today and every day. You are seen. You are heard. And we are with you”, thus Hulu.

Amazon Prime shared: “Together we stand with the black community – colleagues, artists, writers, storytellers, producers, our viewers – and all allies in the fight against racism and injustice.”
