Popular American singer Johnny Nash passed away on Tuesday. His son announced this. Nash turned 80. His most successful record was ‘I Can See Clearly Now’.

The Texan made his debut in 1957 with the single ‘A Teenager Sings The Blues’. The following year he released ‘A Very Special Love’, a cover of Doris Day.
In the 1960s he moved to Jamaica, where he was influenced by reggae.
Nash scored his biggest hit in 1972, when the song “I Can See Clearly Now” from his album of the same name hit No. 1 in the US and many other countries. The song has since been released by several other artists.
Nash has also worked on the music for quite a few films and television series. He made several trips to the acting world: the musician was seen in the films, among other things Take a giant step (1959) in Key witness (1960).
His last album ‘Here Again’ was released in 1986.
Nash died at his home in Houston.
