Jakarta –
Tea is a popular type of drink that provides health benefits. This American scientist suggested adding salt to the mixture.
Tea is a healthy drink that is commonly consumed. Made from fermented tea leaves, dried, then brewed with hot water. There are quite a variety of popular types of tea, such as black tea, green tea, and oolong.
Various ingredients can also be added to tea concoctions to make the taste even more delicious. Some people like to drink tea mixed with sugar, honey, spices, milk and fruit.
Reporting from People (25/1) an American scientist has suggested a new tea concoction. Not adding sugar, but salt.

The suggestion was proposed by Bryn Mawr College Chemistry Professor Michele Francl. He is known to have published a book entitled ‘Steeped: The Chemistry of Tea’.
The book deals with research into making the best cup of tea. Starting from information about various types of tea, when is the best time to brew it, whether to add milk, and much more.
Michelle also recommends adding salt to a warm cup of tea. However, this suggestion was immediately dismissed.
Adding salt to a cup of tea can reduce the bitter taste. Michelle revealed that the bitter taste can be reduced, because the sodium ions in salt can block receptors in the mouth.

Apart from adding salt, Michelle also suggests serving the tea in small, sturdy cups to maintain the heat. He also suggests adding milk after it is just called.
This tea concoction from an American scientist has become a hot topic of conversation on Twitter (X). The United States Embassy in London also discussed the tea blend.
“Today’s media reports about an American professor’s perfect cuppa recipe have put our special ties with the UK on fire,” he said.
As a country whose population consumes a lot of tea, we certainly do not agree with the explanation from a scientist in the United States. In England, tea is generally made using milk, but you can also mix regular tea.
