Travis Scott, one of America’s biggest rap stars, was arrested Friday morning for assault. The Paris public prosecutor’s office has confirmed this.

In the early hours, “police officers were called to the Georges V hotel, where they arrested Travis Scott for assaulting a security officer. He had intervened to separate the rapper and his bodyguard,” said the public prosecutor.
The investigation was handed over to the judicial police, the public prosecutor’s office said. He did not immediately specify whether the 33-year-old rapper was placed in pre-trial detention.
Travis Scott posted a video on Instagram Thursday night in which he can be seen in Bercy, where the basketball games for the Olympic Games are being held. He then posted pictures of himself in a nightclub on his account with 57 million followers.
The rapper, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster II, has a son and a daughter with his partner Kylie Jenner, an American influencer. He previously practiced law in the United States. In June he was arrested in a drunken state in Miami Beach (Florida) for disturbing the peace.
